Seven of eight state quarterfinalists return next year for the Class 6A boys tennis tournament. Avi Vemuri of Westview was the only senior to reach the quarters. The Metro league champion, Vemuri seeded second but he was upset by eventual champion and six seed Andrew Finkelman, a sophomore from Grant.

Finkelman defeated his teammate, the No. 1 seed Dylan King (11) in a three-set battle. Also returning are semifinalists Joey Schwartz (10) of Central Catholic and Tommy Edwards (11) of Century.

The other singles quarterfinalists were: Matt Perkins (10) West Linn, Luke Lemaitre (9) Westview and Andrew Newell (11) Jesuit.
